Burrito Rolling for a Cause
Monthly Celebrity Roller Series at Anna’s Taqueria

WHAT:                 Anna’s Taqueria, Boston’s beloved burrito joint, rolls for a cause in 2013 by enlisting a different local celebrity each month to prepare its signature West Coast-style burritos in support of area charities. Hosted monthly at Anna’s Harvard Street store, the rolling series invites guests to give back to local organizations by paying $10 for their celebrity-rolled burrito, with the entire cost going toward the charity of the roller’s choice.

At the core of Anna’s mission is giving back to the neighborhoods that have helped grow the restaurant into a treasured citywide staple. Over the years, Anna’s has supported countless organizations and has encouraged fundraising at the grassroots level by helping local organizations and volunteers champion the causes they’re passionate about. The burrito rolling series is a continuation of that goal, putting local notables “behind the line” to flex their burrito-rolling muscles in support of the larger community.

Indochino Pop Up Store - Thru 4/15

3/26/2013 08:15:00 PM 0 Responses
I almost bought an Indochino suit a couple of months ago.   I was in the market for a new suit and my friend Matt came to work raving about how he got a great deal on his and how the suit fit really well.  I went so far as ordering the free measuring tape from the Indochino website and was ready to measure myself for a suit, but then I went on vacation.

While on vacation, I spent a week in Taiwan, so I just ended up getting a suit made there.  For those of you who are curious, Indochino has a pop up shop in town right now thru April 15.   Details below.

If I need a second suit, I may give Indochino a shot.  That is unless I end up in Asia again.

VH1's Wicked Single Premieres Tonight - 3/17

3/17/2013 03:42:00 PM 0 Responses
VH1's reality series 'Wicked Single' premieres this Sunday, March 17 (St. Patrick¹s Day) at 11 p.m.

Work hard, party harder: that's the motto this "wicked single" group of Bostonians live - and party - by. As this group of six twenty- and thirty-somethings fumble toward adulthood and turning 30, they are united in a mission to strike the perfect balance of advancing career goals, hooking up and reveling in the hijinks that come with their FOMO (fear of missing out) lifestyle. Whether it's "Monday Fundays" or "Tuesday Boozedays," they search for answers to age old questions such as "How do I find love?," "What am I doing with my life?," AND "Why I am this hung over on a Wednesday?!" Growing up - without growing old - is the goal when you are Wicked Single...they're loud, they're real, and they're ready to party.

So after a full day of celebrating your Irish heritage (or that of your friends, or friends of friends or Niall Horan of One Direction) settle in for a night of captivating television based in one of our nation¹s oldest cities.

Free: BSC UXF Zone Workout - 3/17

3/12/2013 08:12:00 PM 0 Responses
This St. Patrick's Day, sham-rock your body at Boston Sports Club and join us for a FREE Celtic-themed functional training workout. On Sunday, March 17th from 9-11am at various locations, BSC Trainers will work participants through a 30 minute circuit workout on the new turf UXF zones.

The UXF Zone’s green turf brings the eye before the body even steps foot on it. Ladders for agility are painted into the floor while sports arena locker-room-type metal cages and blackboards act as the front stage for master trainers to lead small groups. Battle ropes are being hoisted, jumping boxes lept upon, and bolder-sized weighted medicine balls are being pounded into the floor. Human limbs are linked into TRX bands and pulleys to push, pull and swing members' full body weights around. Pull-ups, rope climbs, kettle bells swings and flipping of tractor-sized tires are met with grunts, cheers, and numbers of reps shouted. Handstand push-ups replace the traditional. Sample exercises will include:

·         Shamrock Sit Ups
·         Leprechaun Lunges
·         Irish Jig Jump Rope
·         Dublin Dips
·         Bagpipe Bench Press
·         A Plank for a Pint
·         Kiss Me Kettle bell Swings
·         Keg Stand Side Lunge
·         Lucky Leg Lifts
·         Bottoms Up (Butt Lift)
·         Irish Twists

The training session is free to BSC members and non-members. There will be fun giveaways and Irish themed gifts for all participants! The list of participating BSC locations include:

BSC Wellington Circle, 70 Station Landing, Medford, MA
BSC Wellesley, 140 Great Plain Avenue, Wellesley, MA

Perfect way to start your day… after all the parade doesn’t kick off until 1pm.
