This St. Patrick's Day, sham-rock your body at Boston Sports Club and join us for a FREE Celtic-themed functional training workout. On Sunday, March 17th from 9-11am at various locations, BSC Trainers will work participants through a 30 minute circuit workout on the new turf UXF zones.
The UXF Zone’s green turf brings the eye before the body even steps foot on it. Ladders for agility are painted into the floor while sports arena locker-room-type metal cages and blackboards act as the front stage for master trainers to lead small groups. Battle ropes are being hoisted, jumping boxes lept upon, and bolder-sized weighted medicine balls are being pounded into the floor. Human limbs are linked into TRX bands and pulleys to push, pull and swing members' full body weights around. Pull-ups, rope climbs, kettle bells swings and flipping of tractor-sized tires are met with grunts, cheers, and numbers of reps shouted. Handstand push-ups replace the traditional. Sample exercises will include:
· Shamrock Sit Ups
· Leprechaun Lunges
· Irish Jig Jump Rope
· Dublin Dips
· Bagpipe Bench Press
· A Plank for a Pint
· Kiss Me Kettle bell Swings
· Keg Stand Side Lunge
· Lucky Leg Lifts
· Bottoms Up (Butt Lift)
· Irish Twists
The training session is free to BSC members and non-members. There will be fun giveaways and Irish themed gifts for all participants! The list of participating BSC locations include:
