Newton Farmer's Market Goes Indoors

1/07/2013 07:16:00 PM
The Newton Farmer's Market has been around for 20 years, but this is the first year holding this indoor market--sort of an experiment to see if people would appreciate having access to many of the fresh foods they can get during the summer.

The farmers' market is at the Hyde Community Center, which is located at 90 Lincoln Street in Newton Highlands. Among the food sold are local apples, hydroponic lettuce, fish from the waters around Massachusetts, assorted vegetables grown in greenhouses, maple syrup products, locally made cheeses and kettle corn. All the vendors at the market are from Massachusetts.
