First off, thanks to media rep DanDan for donating to my marathon fundraising efforts (here).  You are a gentleman and a scholar.  Yup, I get emails every time someone donates, and yes I am going to start each day's postings by thanking every person that contributed.

Moving onwards ... to things that I should not be eating while training for the marathon - apparently July 27th is National Hot Dog Day - which means free hot dogs at the Pru courtesy of Kayem.

Kayem, the official frank of the Boston Red Sox, will celebrate National Hot Dog Day on July 27 with a free sampling event and appearance by Red Sox player Josh Reddick at the Boylston Plaza outside of the Prudential Center. All guests will receive free Kayem franks, coupons, and the opportunity to have their photo taken with Josh Reddick, Wally the Green Monster, and the 2004 and 2007 Red Sox World Series Trophies. Chuck Nolan from WZLX will be on hand to play music and emcee the event.

As added fun, Josh Reddick will join Kayem behind the grill to help serve Kayem’s famous franks and compete against New England BBQ Grill Masters Brendan Burek and Steve Farrin for the best tasting recipe as voted by the crowd.

Josh Reddick on site from 12 to 1 PM

I went to DBGB in NYC recently.  It's one of Daniel Boulud's restaurants and it seemed that their specialty was sausages.  I had one.  It cost me $13 and let me tell you:  free hot dog > $13 fancy sausage.
