One of my buddies and frequent guest bloggers on the Beantown Bloggery - DanDan - told me a couple weeks ago that he's decided to start training for triathlons.  So this post is for him.  

Recycle Studio, Boston’s premier indoor cycling studio, opened its doors for business in the South End on January 3rd. The studio will start off with a light schedule of classes which mostly consists of 45 minute rides but also an intro to cycling ride for those who are new to it and a 90 minute endurance ride for those looking to escape the cold during training.

In February, more classes will be added to the schedule with the intention to eventually have five daily classes during the week and three on weekends. The studio’s website says, “A good sweat is the best way to start or end your day” so the schedule will cater to this belief by offering morning and evening rides.

Much like a yoga studio, class styles will vary by teacher which will make it ideal for all levels. Some more traditional classes will be taught to classic rock while others are geared towards endurance with tracks from Florence + the Machine taking you through the “hills”.


Personally, I've been to a couple of spin classes when I used to belong to the Sports Club LA and both times, it felt like my heart was going to leap out of my chest when I was through.  Probably a sign that I got a good workout in, but not my cup of tea.  I've decided that if I do end up getting a job that doesn't require me to travel anymore, I'm going to look back into doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu again.
