WGBH Radio’s A Christmas Celtic Sojourn with Brian O’Donovan returns to the Cutler Majestic Theatre at Emerson College in Boston on Friday, December 17 through Sunday, December 19.
This year’s concerts feature folk/Celtic singers Robbie O’Connell of the Clancy Brothers and Heidi Talbot, formerly of Cherish the Ladies. Joining them on stage are musicians Natalie Haas (cello), Hanneke Cassel (violin), Chico Huff (bass), and Chris Stout and Caitriona McKay (harp/fiddle duo). Eamonn Murray (percussion) and Sean Graham (guitar/accordian), both of the Northern Ireland contemporary ensemble, Beoga, are also performing. Amanda Cavanaugh, born and raised in Brookline, Massachusetts, but steeped in Irish traditional fiddle style, rounds out the ensemble.
