Known for his ground-breaking films, "Do the Right Thing," "Inside Man" and HBO's "When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts" the acclaimed director will speak on his life, work and the ability of film to effect social change. This past August, HBO aired “If God Is Willing and da Creek Don’t Rise,” the companion piece to “When the Levees Broke”. Of Lee’s upcoming visit to the campus, Tom Fiedler, Dean of BU’s College of Communication says, “Spike Lee’s brilliance as a director and film-maker comes not only from his artistic talent, but his ability through his films to force audiences to confront the ugliest parts of American life – and often of themselves. Nobody walks out of a Spike Lee film feeling unmoved or even unprovoked.”
The event is free and open to the public and admission will be on a first come, first served basis. RSVP is not necessary.
