The Boston Lyric Opera hosts free opera night lecture on Puccini’s Tosca, with mini performances by lead singer Diego Torre.
WHAT: Dr. Deborah Burton, an internationally-renowned Puccini expert and published author, discusses “The Twists and Trysts of Tosca.” The BLO 2010-2011 season opens with the classic Puccini work on November 5.
The discussion will be followed by a mini-performance of excerpts featuring Tosca’s leading tenor, Diego Torre. A rising star in the opera world, Mr. Torre comes to BLO directly from covering for Plácido Domingo in the title role of L.A. Opera’s Il Postino.
