Ok, so you guys know that I usually only talk about Boston based businesses, but I'm going to make an exception and plug Wayne over at because he helped me out of a big mess.

Last week, I was sitting out on the balcony reading some magazines and the one at the top of the pile started flapping in the wind.  Being the idiot that I am, I decided to use the only thing I had with me to weigh it down, my iphone.  It worked ok for a while, then suddenly a gust of wind picked up that top magazine along with my iphone and sent it careening down 4 stories.

I RAN down the stairs and saw it on the pavement.  It was face down.  I crossed my fingers and hoped that the rubber case I keep it in magically saved it from any serious damage.  This was not the case.  I was mortified because my life is in that phone.  See below for the horror that was my broken iphone.

Being the techie nerd that I am, I immediately went on Facebook and Twitter to mourn the loss of my iphone.  That's when Wayne found me via the interwebs and told me that he could fix it.

Long story short, I mailed my phone to CA last Friday and got it back in the mail this Wednesday.  That's less than a week turnaround.  I was super impressed.  Here's my phone:  back and looking like new.

I emailed Wayne to say thanks and to let him know that I was going to make sure that all you folks out there are aware of this resource and he filled me in on a few more things about their business.

PS.  If you're wondering why I didn't take it to the Apple store, it's because I now hate the genius bar after I took my $1300 macbook in to get repaired last year and they told me it would cost $1400.  I ended up buying the part I needed for $100 off the internet and replaced it myself.

Glad you were able to fix your phone. A month ago I dropped my phone while....uhm...drunk texting sadly...and I found a local repair guy in Brighton that repairs cracked phone screens for really cheap. ($80) Real cool guy too. If you ever break it again (i hope not) and you want something more local you should check him out. My screen was smashed and in 30 mins he had on a new screen for me.
