Just got this email forwarded to me from a Bloggery reader about a volunteer opportunity that sounds pretty great.  For those of you on a tight budget (tix to the event are $85), if you volunteer to work the day/night of the event, you can stick around for just a $25 donation.  It's all in the email below:

Dear Friend,

My name is Matthew Kotlove and I am currently serving as an AmeriCorps member with Share Our Strength's Operation Frontline program. This year we are pleased to announce that Share Our Strengths annual Taste of the Nation® Boston, will take place on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at the Hynes Convention Center. Boston’s best restaurants, along with their chefs, will gather to raise money to help end childhood hunger in our community and in America. With over 1000 in attendance, the evening will feature delectable cuisine prepared by Boston’s finest chefs, fine wine and spirits from around the world, along with an impressive silent auction and live entertainment. It is the only event of its kind from which 100 percent of ticket sale proceeds support vital Boston organizations such as The Greater Boston Food Bank, Project Bread, and Operation Frontline MA, as well as other anti-hunger organizations across the country. For more information regarding the event please visit www.tasteofthenation.org .

Thank you to all of you who helped to make last year’s event a huge success. I am currently in the process of recruiting volunteers for this year's event. We hope that we can count on you to share your strength by donating your time and energy this year. 2010 marks Taste of the Nation Boston’s 22nd anniversary, and with a fundraising goal of $150,000, we need your help more than ever!

Below you will find a list of the various tasks related to set-up and night-of activities. You are welcome to choose a task/position that suits your schedule and interest, and I will do my best to accommodate requests. Lunch and dinner will be provided for all volunteers on Wednesday as well as lunch on Thursday. We also invite all volunteers who work on the evening of April 8th to take part in the activities prior to or after their shift. We do ask that volunteers who wish to join in the festivities please make a $25 contribution toward Share Our Strength’s efforts to end childhood hunger.
