I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. It was quite nice to have a few days off from blogging. Sometimes the weekend just isn't enough. I definitely overate this weekend, as I'm sure many of you did. The calorie counting starts up again today, that is until this Thursday when Stoddard's opens up. I love trying new restaurants, and this one's just down the street from me.

Stoddard’s Fine Food & Ale will open to the public this December 3rd at 48 Temple Place in the Ladder Blocks of Downtown Crossing. Stoddard’s Fine Food & Ale promises to bring us one of the most authentic early American eating and drinking experiences this city has ever seen by incorporating phenomenal historical architecture and d├ęcor, the lost art of crafting cocktails and true American comfort food as to reawaken the grandeur of days past.

Stoddard’s Fine Food & Ale’s gastropub menu has been developed by Mark Cina who has spent time honing his skill in some of Boston’s premiere kitchens, like KO Prime and Craigie Street Bistro. Cina’s menu features authentic early American comfort fare that will alternate seasonally. Cina will also cure his meats in-house.


I already checked out the menu on their website and I think I'd like to have the Beef Tartar to start, then the Mushroom Stuffed Quail. Sounds delicious.

UPDATE: I was just informed that the opening has been pushed back one week until 12/10.
