I'm not much of a comic book person not from lack of interest, but rather lack of funds. How do kids afford comic books? I'm a grown man with a job and I still find it painful to have to buy that many books to keep up. I'd prefer to spend my $ on beer. =)
That being said, I'm unfortunately not familiar with the comic Chew. But for those of you that are, Rob Guillory - the artist for Chew - is going to be in town later this week on 11/29 from 9am – 3pm at the Westford Regency (219 Littleton Road, Westford, MA 01886) for Larry's COmic Book Show.
Larry’s Comic Book Show proudly welcomes Rob Guillory, artist of the hit indie comic Chew, to their Thanksgiving weekend show. Rob says in addition to doing quick sketches and selling original art pages from all six issues of Chew, "I may bring out some sneak peeks at future issues of the book, just for the fans there."
As a special incentive, an exclusive limited edition variant of the sold out first issue will be available for sale at the show. “Chew very well may be the runaway best-selling new series of the year,” says promoter Larry Doherty, “I am thrilled to be hosting series artist Rob Guillory for his first time meeting New England comic fans.”
I think the last comic book series that I read was the X-men series written by Joss Whedon. I was crashing with a buddy of mine while in SF and he insisted that I read it. It was quite good. Oh and I also do read Naruto online, so I guess that counts too.
