Harvard Produces Most Billionaires

10/01/2009 12:45:00 AM
I've been sitting on this article for almost two months. Partly because it's wayyyy back in my bookmarks list of stuff to blog about and partly because it's about Harvard. Forbes did a study of billionaires and what schools they came from. Harvard is at the top of the list (by far).

Want your kid to become one of the richest people in the world? Send them to Harvard.

The Cambridge, Mass., school tops our first-ever billionaire college study with an alumni base that features 54 10-figure titans, more than 5% of the world's billionaires. Of those 54 plutocrats, 11 received an undergraduate degree, 41 earned a master's, doctorate or juris doctorate, and two earned two degrees.

For those of you that are curious, here's the whole list by school:

Harvard 54
Stanford 25
Upenn 18
Columbia & Yale 16
MIT 11
Northwestern 10
U of Chicago 10
Cornell 9
UC Berkeley 9
USC 9
UT Austin 9

So between Harvard And MIT, there are 65. So MA has wayyyy more than any other state. That's how I like it.
