Great American Book Drive - 10/3

10/02/2009 03:36:00 AM
I just recently rediscovered the public library and the whole 'reading books' thing. It helped that my tv was busted and I also got rid of all my premium channels - which allowed me to watch a little less tv and spend some time reading again. I'm happy to report that I do indeed still know how to read.

Coming up this weekend is the Great American Book Drive. A chance for you to get rid of your old books, and make room for some new ones.

Better World Books invites Bostonians to clear off their cluttered shelves for a good cause. In what’s become a local tradition, area residents and community members of all ages are asked to stop by the Great American Book Drive™ and donate new and used books to help raise money for the Prison Book Program and City Mission Society of Boston.

Last year’s drive collected over 22,000 books – carloads and suitcases full! – and this year’s organizers are looking to top that figure.
