Island Creek Oyster Festival - 9/12

9/03/2009 12:02:00 AM
I've been to the Wellfleet Oyster Festival before (it was delicious) but never the Island Creek Oyster Festival. How exciting. More oysters to be had!

Revel in some serious bivalve goodness with the Island Creek Oyster festival on Saturday, September 12th. This year's festival, which runs from 3:00 to 11:00pm at Duxbury Beach, promises to be bigger, better and greener than ever before with as many as 40,000 locally produced oysters being shucked for your gastronomic entertainment.

The price of one general admission ticket includes entry into the Festival and unlimited food in the form of small plates served by 15 of Boston's best chefs (dishes range from seafood to dessert and include oyster shooters, pulled pork tacos, and grilled razor clams). Food will be served from 5-8 p.m. Guests also have access to the main tent where three bands will be performing between 3-11 p.m. as well as the family friendly Kids' Zone, open from 3-6 p.m. In addition to the general admission ticket, we will be selling drink and oyster tickets for $5 each; one ticket is good for one beer, one glass of wine, or six oysters.

Tickets are $50. I'm trying to remember if there was a ticket fee for the wellfleet festival. I don't think there was, so what I'm trying to remember now is if I spent 50 on food while I was there and the answer is ... maybe.
