UFC/MMA Coming to Massachusetts?

4/22/2009 12:01:00 AM
I used to be a much bigger UFC fan than I am now. Here's what happened. Basically, I'm too cheap to pay for UFC pay per view matches, so I used to watch them at the Hooters in North Station. That Hooters closed, thus I stopped watching UFC.

The Public Safety Committee heard a bill filed by Sen. James Timilty, D-Walpole, that would expand jurisdiction of the state's boxing commission to include mixed martial arts and require events be licensed by the commission.

Officials from the Ultimate Fighting Championship, the largest professional association for mixed martial arts, said economic activity generated from fights would bring in $12.3 million.

Last year, we tried to get tickets when UFC went to Montreal, but tickets sold out in seconds. It was nuts. It would be awesome if we could go to matches at the TD Garden in the near future.

  1. Getting Healthy Said,

Why did that Hooters close in the first place? They should have put it near Fanuiel Hall like how much better Hard Rock Cafe is doing. Was it due to there not being enough good looking gals to work employ at Hooters?
I miss the ones in Kennessaw, Ga, San Antonio, Tx, Round Rock, Tx, and of course Hooters of Plano.

  2. Getting Healthy Said,

I forgot the one in Pensacola Beach where I vacation a lot. It is right on the beach with outside seating, and the gals are a combination of honky tonk and redneck which I sorely miss.
