Pretty Things Beer

4/07/2009 12:01:00 AM
You know, back when I was in college, a few friends and I gave beer brewing a try. It was fun, cost effective, but there were too many space constraints after moving into those tiny living spaces they call 'apartments' downtown to keep it going.

It's nice to see other MIT folks keeping the brewing tradition alive - segue into Pretty Things Beer.

So turn your magpie peepers toward Cambridge-based Pretty Things Beer and Ale Project, a brand new craft brewing company with sweet hand-drawn labels. From a longtime brewmaster and his wife, an MIT scientist, the small-batch, just-complex-enough beers are a labor of love. The golden Jack D’Or has a hint of bread and fruitiness, while the slightly chocolatey Saint Botolph’s Town is ale-like without tasting like a punch in the face.

That's good news, because I have an aversion for being punched in the face.
