The likeliest clubs to host such a spectacle would be the House of Blues and the Paradise, where U2 played its first-ever Boston show in 1980 opening for Barooga Bandit. But both are booked that night, as is the Middle East.
Tickets? Forget about it. There aren't any. Invites are being doled out by local radio stations. (WBCN, WZLX, WFNX, WAAF, Mix 98.5, and Radio 92.9 were all hyping the Hub show yesterday.)
Start calling your friends that work at the radio stations cause they're the ones with the tickets. If any of you out there are lucky enough to score tickets, be sure to report back and let us know how the tickets are. Or if you're in the market for an arm, one reader emailed me saying she'd give her left arm for tickets to that show.
