The Boston Conservatory Music Division hosts its 7th annual New Music Festival Feb. 5—8, 2009. The festival features five concerts of contemporary chamber music. All concerts are at Seully Hall, 8 The Fenway, Boston. The festival is organized by the composition department, chaired by Andy Vores. Admission is FREE.
According to Vores, "This year's festival explores the eclecticism of contemporary music, placing recent works by younger American composers alongside masterpieces from the European and U.S. avant-garde.”
I was about to say that it's been many years since I've been to the Boston Conservatory, but I just realized that it was the New England Conservatory that I've been to (one of my HS classmates was there briefly). So I guess this will be a good chance for me to go for the first time. The festival runs from 2/5-2/8.
