The Killers Concert - 1/26

1/27/2009 12:01:00 AM
Anyone score tickets to the Killers concert last night? Perhaps off my post from October when I posted the pre-sale password (here)? I kept on trying after my post and managed to score tickets after a few tries, and let me tell you it was totally worth it.

I realized that The Killers are one of the few bands for which I like all of their songs. There literally was not a single bad song in the set. For those of you that went, what'd you think? My only gripe is that Agganis Arena needs more a parking garage of some sort nearby. Trying to catch the T or a cab after the show was brutal.

PS. I've got soul but I'm not a soldier.

  1. Cheryl Said,

Oh man! I went to the show last night. AWESOME! I agree there was not a bad song in the set. So much energy! I had seats for this one and we were close to the stage so I couldnt really enjoy the backdrop at all. I tried to get tickets to Mohegan but ticketmaster claimed to not have any for me at 10:01am!! Looks like Ill be searching high and low for em. I want floor tickets this time!

  2. Anonymous Said,

I went to the show too thanks to your tip in October. Thanks it was a great show but I think I'm less enthuastic than maybe some others because:

1.)I feel like the band has an identity complex. Their latest album is like 80's synthed out and their others have a stronger rock vibe. I just feel like they're totally departing from what they've been about

2.) The songs were perfectly executed, with amazing lights etc but there was no other performance creativity – e.g.

    a. no "live versions" of their songs from what I could tell it sounded like each song was played as is on the albums

    b. they also didn't do any covers/remakes of anyone else's songs

    c. there wasn't a lot of talking to the crowd. Sure a bit about how it's cold in Boston so think of sunny days, but not like other shows where an artist will stop at some point and talk about what they're doing a bit, or what they think of Boston, or just more crowd interaction. Something about it left me feeling like they were going through the motions

So overall I think I give the show a B. Totally enjoyable, well done, but not in the rhelm of a truly amazing performance from some other shows I've seen.
