The wait is over. House of Blues is returning to Boston in February 2009 with a new larger location across from Fenway Park at 15 Lansdowne Street. The venue will feature a full service restaurant, 2400+ capacity concert hall, retail store and the exclusive VIP membership club, Foundation Room®. The original House of Blues closed its doors in Harvard Square just over 5 years ago and will always be credited for launching the definitive live music brand which now totals 13 clubs across the country.
I first blogged about this project in June of '07 when the tentative name for the project was still the Landsdowne Street Music Hall (here). Six months later, it was purchased by the House of Blues (here) and the finish line is finally in sight. Tickets go on sale today for their first set of concerts.
Gipsy Kings (2/20)
BB King & Buddy Guy (2/22)
Jimmy Eat World (2/26)
The Disco Biscuits (2/28)
Flogging Molly (3/10)
The Pogues (3/21)
Cut Copy (3/22)
John Brown’s Body (4/25)
Dropkick Murphys (3/13-3/17)
I think my picks would be the Gipsy Kings, BB King, and the Dropkick Murphys. A couple of my friends are big fans of Jimmy Eat World so hopefully they're reading this otherwise they're gonna miss out. Just kidding, since I'm a nice guy, I'll probably email them to let them know.

Anonymous Said,
somebody should pry up the old cement blocks outside the old location and transfer them... when I went by there they have a huge trash bin dumped on top of most of them, and behind a fence to boot... a shame
