But, for those of you that are looking for something to do, here's what I'd recommend. There's going to be a Tribute to James Brown concert tonight at the MFA.
To celebrate the legacy of the Godfather of Funk, James Brown, the legendary Pee Wee Ellis (Van Morrison's sax) and Fred Wesley (Funk trombonist extraordinaire of Ray Charles and Van Morrison) have formed a pan-continental soul/funk supergroup.
This incredible lineup includes JB Horns alumni, and special guests Cheikh Lo (from Senegal) and Vieux Farka Toure (Malian singer/guitarist). Who: James Brown Tribute, Cheikh Lo, Vieux Farka Toure Where: The Museum of Fine Art: Calderwood Courtyard, Boston MA When: Two concerts: August 20th at 6:30pm and 9:00pm
Have a good time tonight kids. This old man needs a nap.
