About Me

6/15/2008 02:25:00 AM
I decided to jump on the bandwagon and add an "About Me" post similar to the ones I see in a bunch of other blogs. I'll keep this short, I promise.

I'm a pretty regular guy. I grew up in Texas and moved to Boston in 2000 to go to school at MIT. I graduated in 2004 and have been working in Boston ever since. Save for a one year stint where I lived in Waltham, I've spent most of my years living in Downtown Boston (Back Bay, South End, Theater District, and soon Downtown Crossing)

I launched the Beantown Bloggery in May of 2007 because I figured if Perez can make millions of dollars, then so can I. Just kidding ... sort of. For those of you that are wondering, you're lucky to make a couple bucks a day off of a blog.

The real reason I launched the blog was to keep up with all the cool stuff that was going on in Boston. Events, new restaurants, nightlife - you name it, I wanted to know when and where it was happening. I figured there were probably other people out there in the same boat as me, hence the birth of the Beantown Bloggery.

  6. Edward Said,

Nice blog. Have you considered adding an apartment hunting forum? Or a menu pick or a section or a category or something? Do you rent?

I've got a blog about that, and a bunch of outpost syndicated type blog thingys, but I'm really hoping to be a part of a human community talking about life in Boston in some real way. Let me know if you want to discuss how we could help each other in a non-cheesy way.

BIG FAN of Although, when I discovered it, I obviously had to go back and read all the archived posts, and I didn't realize the author adds snarky commentary to the strip if you put your mouse over the picture until...oh about halfway through the archive. Had to go back and start over! Glad you're moving into the DTC space - I am hoping that if it becomes more a residential place, it will attract a more comprehensive variety of bars/restaurants so I don't get stuck eating dinner from 7-11 every night! It's definitely getting better with Stoddards and Woodward, etc, and there's a b.good and Uburger coming in soon as well as a Petit Robert. Great blog, neighbor!
