8' Tall Hulk Statue Stolen in Lowell

6/23/2008 07:00:00 AM
Idle hands are the Devil's playground. Summer has just begun and it looks like the idle hands are already doing what they do best.

Police in Lowell are seeking an 8-foot tall green man wearing ripped purple pants last seen standing in front of a city cinema. Police say the promotional statue for "The Incredible Hulk" movie disappeared from in front of the theater early Tuesday. The statue is also missing its feet, because it was bolted to a plywood platform and whoever took it snapped it off at the ankles. Police Captain James McPadden believes more than one person was involved and a car or pickup truck was needed to whisk the statue away. McPadden says the theater has video surveillance cameras and is hoping the theft was captured on film.

Who would want an eight foot tall footless hulk statue? My guess would be frat boys at U Mass Lowell. A frat house seems like a likely place that you could stash a hulk statue without anyone noticing.

Whoever you are, have fun with the statue while it lasts, and pray that the video surveillance doesn't come up with anything.

  1. nanio Said,

I did it. I also converted it into an animatron; it is washing my dishes right now.
