Harvard Applicant Information Stolen

3/13/2008 12:23:00 PM
If you applied last year to grad school at Harvard's School of Arts and Sciences there is a good chance that someone has your personal information. They were hacked last month and someone may have pulled data off their servers.

University officials also announced that they will send notices today to approximately 10,000 of last year's applicants, who were exposed during the breach.

For approximately 6,600 applicants, the information included Social Security numbers, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, test scores, and school records. The remainder of the sensitive data did not involve Social Security numbers.

If you're paranoid like I am you could consider using a service like FreeCreditReport.com and their credit monitoring service to keep an eye on things for you. I did it after the whole TJ Maxx debacle (here).
