Fox's Unhitched: Review

3/05/2008 12:18:00 PM
I was pretty excited when I heard that we'd be getting a Boston-based sitcom. Hopefully this isn't it. I just recently watched the pilot for Unhitched and it was kind of awful.

The main character gets sexually assaulted by a monkey during the first five minutes of the episode and then the stereotypical Indian doctor character ends up getting conned by a prostitute that he hires to keep him company on his birthday. Here's what the Herald had to say:

You naturally want to root for a show with so many local ties. “Unhitched” was created by locals Chris Pappas and Mike Bernier. Jones graduated from Harvard and Bierko attended Boston University.

Set in Boston, “Unhitched” filmed its exterior shots here. You’ll catch glimpses of the Public Garden, Downtown Crossing and Zakim Bridge.

I'm in agreement. You want to root for the show, but it's just too awful to watch. Click (here) to read the rest of the Herald review.

Or click (here) to watch the episode for yourself. It's only half an hour, it won't kill you. Let me know what you think.

  1. Anonymous Said,

I watched about ten minutes of this show tonight and it was pretty awful. Just plain unfunny in a vaguely intelligence-insulting way.
