I'm sure there's plenty a parent of an MIT student that has stayed at the Hotel@MIT in University Park (Central Square area). Well it's being sold and is going to be reintroduced as a Le Meridien hotel.
Has anyone stayed at the Taj hotel (the old Ritz on Arlington) since it was purchased? Is it better than it was when it was the Ritz? The Hotel@MIT is being purchased for $60 million and then the new owners are going to spend another $7.3 million renovating it.
I stayed at a Le Meridien once when I was in Minneapolis. I wasn't that impressed. I would at some point like to stay at the new Intercontinental on the waterfront just to check it out - it looks awesome.
I'll hafta pass on Le Meridien when it's done in 2009. The $200 bucks a night they charge would be better spent on Guitar Hero III and/or Rock Band. Click (here) to read the article for yourself.

feedmittens Said,
I used to love staying at the hotel, but part of that love was that the room rates were not abhorrent. It's a shame that one more reasonably priced hotel in a great location is going bye bye. I have a friend who is a concierge there, and I hope she keeps her job.
