New Discount NYC-Boston Bus Line

10/26/2007 01:47:00 PM
Now normally, I wouldn't be posting about yet another discount bus service going to NYC, there's already a ton: Lucky Star, Fung Wah (For those with a deathwish), Peter Pan, Greyhound, Limoliner, etc. Say hello to Vamoose.

What makes Vamoose special? Free WiFi access on the bus and guaranteed seating. It's a little bit pricier. $22 per one way trip in advance or $25 at the door. According to the Globe, the guaranteed seating is the big draw. But for me, it's the 4 hours of being able to surf the net and IM with friends while riding on the bus. I bet electrical sockets will be a hot commodity on this bus.

One odd thing that I need to check out, it seems like they pick up and drop off on a street corner behind Copley Place. Reminds me of back in the day when the Chinatown bus first started running and they picked up on the streets of Chinatown.

Anyway, click (here) to read the Globe article for yourself or click (here) to go to the Vamoose website. If anyone tries it out before I get a chance, leave a comment and let me know how it is.

Update: Vamoose got their permits revoked by the city of Cambridge two weeks after they started up. So, they don't currently serve the Boston-Cambridge area.

  1. Anonymous Said,

Vamoose is a great company even without these "candies"... I've been using them in DC for past couple of years.
