Gary Kasparov, Stephen King, and More

10/14/2007 07:16:00 AM
This week is an exciting one for the Harvard Bookstore. They're hosting some really great folks at various locations to discuss their new books.

First off, on Monday 10/15, Gary Kasparov will be at the First Parish Church Meetinghouse at 7pm to discuss his new book "How Life Imitates Chess." You know Mr. Kasparov from his chess exploits, but if you've been reading the news lately, you'll know that he recently decided to run for President in Russia. Click (here) for details.

Second, on Tuesday 10/16, Stephen King will be in town to host a forum with other authors that contributed to "The Best American Short Stories 2007." This event is being held at the Memorial Church at 7pm. Unforunately the website says that this event is sold out, but who knows maybe people will be scalping tickets. Click (here) for more details and a list of the other notable authors that will be attending.

Wow, I'm going to stop typing now because I just clicked the "more events" button on the Harvard Bookstore website and they're basically an event every day. Click (here) to see the list of events for October.

I think I'm going to look into attending Frank Warren's (PostSecret) talk on 10/30 and Craig Venter on 10/31. If you haven't heard of PostSecret, click (here) and check it out. It's a really cool concept. It's also one of the most popular blogs in the world.
