I'm blogging about this one early because I was told tickets are selling like hotcakes and I want to make sure that those of you who want to go have the opportunity to do so.

This year marks the 32nd year that the New England Film & Video Festival has been going on. Anything that's been going on longer than I've been alive is pretty impressive. The festival will run from 10/4-10/8 at the Coolidge Corner Theater in Brookline.

There's going to be so much going on: movie screenings, workshops, musical showcases. Click (here) for the official website and details on all the different events that are going on. More importantly, watch the trailers there to see which films you want to see and then go (here) to buy tickets.

Opening Night is October 4th and the entire festival runs through the weekend, including Monday, Columbus Day , as the last day of festivities. Special guests, including filmmakers and members of the Boston Red Sox are expected to attend. This year the festival also will include panels and workshops held at the Marriott Courtyard in Coolidge Corner as an extension of the weekend activities. For the first time ever the State Film Office Directors will gather for a panel and discuss recent tax incentives in their states and what their state has to offer for filmmakers.
