Revere Beach Makeover

7/08/2007 03:04:00 PM
I was in Lynn, MA on Thursday evening test driving a car and the sales rep took me on the 'scenic route' along the beach in Revere. It was somewhat scenic, but what really caught my attention was all the construction that was going on alongside Revere Beach. Orange cones and barricades were up everywhere, limiting everyone to a single lane of traffic.

Sure enough, today's Globe has an article describing the renovations that are going on right now. Click (here) to read the entire article. The Department of Conservation and Recreation is spending about $11 million dollars on renovations and the project is expected to take until early next year.

If you don't mind dealing with the construction, the Revere Beach Sand Castle Festival just started this weekend and will continue on until July 15th. Click (here) for the festival schedule. Swing by to see the sand castles and grab a sandwich at the famous Kelly's Roast Beef.
